iShare: Expressive Language Apps for All

In this session, participants will
get an overview of the current iPad/iPod Touch apps that support
expressive communication for students of all abilities. The focus of the
applications will be on functional use of these apps for students with
special education needs. Talking photos, story writing, text-to-speech,
adapted keyboards andtrue augmentative communication applications with
be explored, the pros and cons and candidates for each will be
discussed. An extensive list of applications and iDevice resources will
be provided. Please bring your own device for a hands-on experience. Sue
Drouin, speech/language pathologist and consultant will be your
instructor. There will be a light dinner served. The cost for this
workshop is $100 and checks or POs can be made payable to ERCSD-SPDC.
