Autism Votes Initiative

March 4, 2013

Would you like to be ABLE to save tax-free for the future needs of your child with autism? Bipartisan legislation is now before Congress that would allow you to set up a tax-free savings account that would work just like a college savings account. And the new accounts would not jeopardize your child's eligibility for Medicaid, supplemental SSI or other benefits.

The legislation is called the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act (ABLE) and enjoys wide bipartisan support. The same bill in the last Congress attracted a majority of the House and 40 Senators as co-sponsors.

Ask your Members of Congress below to co-sponsor the new ABLE bill in this year's Congress! If they supported it last year, you will ask them to sign on again. If they did not or were just elected to Congress, you will ask them for their support.

Please take action today!

Here is How YOU Can Help:

1) EMAIL YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS HERE
If your House Representative or one or both of your state's U.S. Senators have yet to co-sponsor the bill, ask them to sign on now. We have a message created for you, but add a sentence or two to relate your family's experience.

2) ASK YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO HELP
Share this link below on your Facebook and/or Twitter account and ask them to send in a letter on your behalf.

"Bipartisan legislation now in Congress would help people with disabilities, such as autism, to save tax-free for their future needs. Could you go on the link below and ask your Members of Congress to sign on to the ABLE Act? Then write DONE below so I can thank you."

Let's get ABLE done this year to level the playing field for all people with disabilities!
